Lora Keleher - Arizona State University, Arizona, USA

Since childhood, Lora Keleher experimented with and sought out creative mediums to synthesize her experiences with her idealistic nature, and to continuously re-examine her perceptions about the world and the people in it. She views film and writing as art forms that can potentially expand this vision of reshaping perceptions, redefining knowledge, and opening people’s minds to new ways of looking at human potential, and people outwardly different from themselves. Lora is thrilled to participate in the fourteen days project.

Gregory Davies - Under Graduate - University of Plymouth, England, UK

I was born in Cardiff in 1983 and grew up in a town called Penarth just outside Cardiff. I was educated entirely in Welsh. My interest in photography stared at a young age when I would play around with compact cameras. In my teens I started photographing my environment, usually urban scenes around Cardiff. I spent a huge amount of time photographing local skateboarders and also capturing images at the many music clubs and events in Cardiff.

When I left school at 18 I spent a year in Pennsylvania living and working in a Village Community (part of the Camphill movement) that cared for mentally disabled adults. This experience enabled me to learn a great deal about different people and I was able to collect many images that reflected this. I also had the chance to travel around the USA photographing its cities, people and landscapes.

Currently studying Media Arts at the University of Plymouth. I spend a lot of time photographing Plymouth and the surrounding area with work displaying in some local galleries. Just completed a short documentary called ‘Feels Like Family’ about Camphill Communities in the UK. The film allows people who live there to have a voice against the heavy, unjustified criticism that they face by some care organizations. Also working as a production assistant for ‘The Company’ an Exeter based TV/film company.

Oliver Barber - Graduate in Documentary Film & Television - University of Wales, Newport, UK

Spending my life around London, I’ve acquired a strong fascination with the vibrancy of city life, which has evoked a desire to explore the world’s diverse surroundings. I seek inspiration from stunning landscapes, documenting stories that people from all walks of life want to tell.

Recently obtaining a degree in Documentary Film & Television at the University of Wales, Newport - Graduating with a BA (Hons), in addition to an award for a graduate film - I see working in this unique industry a natural progression from my degree, a step towards my dream career in Documentary.

Having a diverse view of this planet and its inhabitants, seeing it for its beauty and its contrasting harsh realities, drives my passion for capturing the world on film.

Nick Frankel - Graduate - University of Gloucestershire, England, UK

Nick has recently graduated from the University of Gloucestershire with a video production degree. Driven by a need to understand his own existence, Nick sought refuge and opportunity in the arts where, from a young age, he involved himself in the theatre and writing, before moving on to the world of film. Nick decided that a trip to university to study the more theoretical nature of film was what was needed. As well as developing his practical skills, Nick studied and fell in love with philosophy and anthropology. His most recent project, an audio-image piece, filmed in Iceland explored ideas behind the destruction and creation of cultural myths and is an example that his work incorporates both strong practical and theoretical elements.

Nick has had experience filming both documentary and narrative films, working on various 16mm and 35mm shorts in the industry sector as well as co-managing a production company at home. He has a deep love for horror films and loves travelling and exploring new places.

Alex Fuhrmann - Graduate - University of Plymouth, England, UK

She believes that everyone has a story to tell, from the dramatic and heart wrenching, to the simple and sweet. Every now and then she stumbles across a story that she feels is screaming to be told.
